We went back over for another game of Dungeons and Dragons. The neighbor sponsors the game pulling out old books and charts from the 80's and the kids love it. A simple maze, a few monsters and some sketches later and we have a game away from the computer. We debate over tactics and money and who would get the magic sword or arrows. As a grown-up its fun to throw a few wrinkles into the story and make the kids think a little deeper about the role of everyone on a team, what is "fair"?... how do we make decisions as a group?...and how your actions can help or endanger the group. At its best its a board game that creates conversation and demands a healthy imagination.
