Bookworm rough 1
This started as a rough idea about a girl and her love of reading...surrounded by a "bookworm" and images of a mix of fairy tail characters (and a monkey....cause monkeys are fun to draw)...anyway it was more of a composition than a quick sketch...need to clean up expressions and face details add more black around the face of the dwarf and behind the girl....fix her expression to give her more joy and wonder....but I liked this for what it started as ....a random thumbnail....stay tuned for the fixes

meeting sketch
had a meeting with the engineers today.....sheet metal changes and something....eh I forget.... I lost interest and found myself drawing this one with one ear to the conference all....Started with a Super hero figure ...then gave her a huge backpack, it was going to be a Jet Pack, then ended up as a battery pack as my conference call topic bled into my thoughts.

Well, the holidays have been busy...you know family stuff...and we have had big projects at work...so I haven't been able to sketch lately and ....we my dog ate my sketchbook and ....and ....and....stupid video games!!!! ( I hope to be sketching more very soon)

Here is a color version of an earlier post....this is done in photoshop using and comic book line, flat and tone technique...much tighter illustration style for me. I am really trying to get tighter and more control of my work. Girl waiting is just a name, as the girl looked anxious for me to finish the rendering....Check out:

Mouse Doodles - Art Parent
I did these sketches for an Art Parent event at school. I used characters my kids helped me develop to talk about how to draw. It was a great day and I love drawing for the kids.

SketchBookPro. . . _ tried to use a more painterly style. . . .

Just a warm up sketch ,trying to go from Manga Studio for inking work to Sketch Book Pro for Color. I am having resolution issues and speed issues on my Tablet. . . Manga can easily work in large files @600 DPI.. . But SBP can't pull in those Large files and slows down the brush response.
